A native Californian, Kassie earned a Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design from Otis College of Arts in Los Angeles and went on to design contemporary clothing in Los Angeles for 10 years.  When she became a mother, she transitioned to teaching art to all ages, until her sons entered school, and she began designing and developing outdoor apparel for The North Face, Royal Robbins, and Ariat, in the San Francisco Bay area for 12 years.  Annual travels to Asian manufacturers, and various skiing and rock climbing gear testing trips were a welcomed job requirement.   Her high school exchange student summer in Istanbul, Turkey had already given her a taste for global cultural education.

Now in rural Michigan since 2014, she makes home with her husband in a little cabin ranch in the woods, gardening, making art, offering nature gatherings, tarot and Akashic Records Readings, and is a sometimes adjunct professor at Western Michigan University, in the Fashion Studies program. She is recently accredited with the Maureen St. Germain Mystery School, and has apprenticed on a shamanic path for over a decade.  Her many curiosities of world cultures, herbalism,  psychology, mythology, tarot, shamanism, astrology, and spirituality flavor her arts.
